Occupants Cut Out Of Car After Crash

SAN DIEGO -- Two occupants of a sports car that overturned Sunday on Highway 163 just south of the split with Interstate 15 had to be cut out of the vehicle and rushed to hospitals, authorities said.The car overturned in the center divide of the freeway just before 10 a.m., a California Highway Patrol dispatcher said.After crews from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department extricated the occupants, they were taken to Sharp Memorial Hospital, said a SDF-RD dispatcher.
Several of the left lanes of the freeway were closed for the rescue and a subsequent investigation, and Caltrans freeway sensors showed some slowing in the area.
