Temecula, Calif. -- Authorities continue the hunt for a man who caused a deadly crash last month then got a ride away from the scene.The victims were a U.S. Navy Corpsman, based at Camp Pendleton, his wife and their young son.Andres Sanagustin, his wife, Maribeth, and their 4-year-old son, Angelo, went for a drive near Hemet on Sunday, June 29th.
Also on the road that night, a pickup truck which crossed the double yellow line, crashing head-on into the Sanagustins' car, killing all three.Witnesses say the driver then hopped into another truck and took off.The bodies of all three victims were taken back to the Philippines for a funeral.On Friday, California Highway Patrol investigators identified the driver of the run vehicle as Chad Isaac Huber, 30, of Murrieta.The person suspected of assisting Huber in fleeing the collision scene was arrested by CHP investigators on July 1, and is still in custody at the Southwest Justice Center awaiting a preliminary hearing for aiding and abetting and Felony Hit and Run, according to the CHP.That man has been identified as Jarred Abatti, 23 from Banning, CA., investigators said.Officers said if anyone can provide additional information in regards to the collision or the whereabouts of Chad Isaac Huber, they should call the Temecula Area CHP office at (951) 506-2000.
