LEMON GROVE, Calif. -- Sheriff's detectives Wednesday were investigating the death of a woman killed by a gunshot wound.Someone called 911 around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday to report that a woman had attempted suicide at a home in the 1800 block of Primera Street, off Massachusetts Avenue, said Lt. Mike Munsey of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.Paramedics arrived and took the woman to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where she died a short time later, he said.Preliminary evidence found at the home prompted deputies to call homicide detectives to the scene, Munsey said without elaboration."We're not really sure about the homicide part yet," Munsey said early Wednesday. "There's still a possibility that (suicide) might be the case, but we really don't know yet and won't until the homicide detectives file their report."The woman's name was not immediately released.
