Small Plane Flips Over On Runway

SAN DIEGO -- A small plane overturned Monday morning at Lindbergh Field, closing the airport for more than an hour, 10News reported.
According to Port of San Diego representative Brian Enarson, the plane, a single-engine Cessna, flipped nose-over after landing around 8:30 a.m.The pilot was the only person on board and was not injured."The pilot appears to be fine and was walking around" Enarson said.Marc Hoaglin told 10News that he witnessed the crash. He was on board a plane that was taxiing during the time of the accident.Hoaglin said that it appeared that turbulence from a jetliner may have contributed to the plane flipping over.Emergency crews took about an hour to remove the plane and clean up the runway.Lindbergh Field said the airport has reopened. However, many incoming flights had been re-routed to Los Angeles, Ontario, and Orange County airports.
