10News.com/20-Gallon Challenge Super Water Saver Contest Official Contest Rules

1. How It Works: No purchase or payment of any money is necessary to enter. There is no cash or exchange value for prizes, and prizes are not transferable. All federal, state, and/or local rules and regulations apply. Void where prohibited by law. The 10News.com/20 Gallon Challenge Super Water Saver contest runs from June 2, 2008 through September 30, 2008. There will be one winner selected each month, 4 winners total. Each winner will receive a 15 second television commercial where they will be recognized as a Super Water Saver. Each 15 second commercial will run a minimum of 15 times over a 2 week period. This Prize package is valued at $3,000.00. No substitutions for prizes are available.

2. Eligibility: Must be 18 years or older to enter. The contest is open to all residents of San Diego County. Employees of ABC, Internet Broadcast Systems, KGTV, McGraw-Hill Inc, San Diego County Water Authority and Member Agencies, parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates of identified entities, all sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest and their respective employees, families, and assigns are not eligible to enter.

3. To enter: Log on to 10News.com’s Sustain San Diego section and fill in the entry form for the 20 Gallon Challenge Super Water Saver contest. Winners will be selected on or about the 3rd week of each month. Winners will be contacted by telephone and/or e-mail.

4. Prize: Four prizes will be awarded, one each month, for a 15 second commercial Super Water Saver TV Schedule (15 commercials total per prize). The 15 second commercial should be run at the beginning of the following month. The prize package is valued at $3,000.00. No substitutions for prizes are available. Acceptance of prize offered constitutes permission to use the winner’s/businesses name and/or likeness for advertising /trade purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.

5. Selection of winners: One winning entry will be selected each month, June-September 2008. Winner will be contacted on or about the 3rd week of each month. Entries will be evaluated by the San Diego County Water Authority. Winners will be chosen based on steps taken to reduce water use (via indoor or outdoor conservation practices, retrofits to more water-efficient equipment or systems, changing to more drought-tolerant landscapes, switching to or increasing recycled water use, etc.) and achieved significant and quantifiable water savings verified by local water agencies. Winners will be contacted by telephone and/or e-mail. Winner(s) must identify himself/herself with a valid driver’s license or state identification card and complete and sign an affidavit of eligibility, release and indemnification in the time period specified by the station to claim the prize. Prizes not claimed 15 days after being contacted will be forfeited. No substitution or transfer of prize will be permitted. Unclaimed prizes will not be awarded. Payment of all taxes and fees, and procurement of all licenses is solely the responsibility of the Prize Winner.

6. Conditions: ABC, Internet Broadcast Systems, KGTV, McGraw-Hill Inc., San Diego County Water Authority and Member Agencies, and parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates of identified entities, all sponsors, advertising and promotion agencies and all others associated with the development and execution of this contest and their respective employees, families, and assigns, are held harmless from and against any and all liability with respect to or in any way arising from the contest and the awarding and use of the prizes, including liability for personal injury and /or property damage. By entering, unless prohibited by law, the winners consent to use of their names, photographs and/or likenesses for advertising or publicity purposes for this and similar promotions without compensation. KGTV retains the discretion to make decisions regarding the interpretations and applications of these rules. All decisions of KGTV are final.

7. Responsibility & Liability: The sponsors, ABC, Internet Broadcast Systems, KGTV, and McGraw-Hill assume no responsibility or liability for damages, losses or injuries resulting from the use of or acceptance of any prize. The sponsor reserves the right, on its sole and absolute discretion to interpret compliance with the letter and intent of these rules, and to disqualify any applicant deemed to have violated these rules or to have filled out any application incorrectly at anytime prior to the distribution of prizes. Additions or deletions to these rules are subject to change without notice. In the event the contest is postponed for any reason, the timetable may be altered at the discretion of KGTV.

8. Odds of Winning: The odds of winning depend upon the number of people entering.

9. Estimated Value: The value of each prize is estimated at $3,000.00.
