3 Small Brush Fires Quickly Extinguished

RAMONA, Calif. -- In Ramona, a small fire broke out near Alice and Ash Streets. It burned only about 5 acres before being brought under control. It briefly threatened some homes and buildings but did not damage any.In Valley Center, about 1 o'clock, a three- acre fire erupted near Mystery Mountain Road and Old Castle Road. It, too, was quickly extinguished.A third small fire broke out about 2 o'clock in Poway near Highway 67 and Poway Road. No structures were damaged in that fire which was put out quickly by fire-fighting helicopters and crews on the ground.
No one was hurt and no homes were lost in any of the three fires, authorities said.
