Police: Man Robs Video Store at Gunpoint

LEMON GROVE, Calif. -- Authorities searched Friday for a man who robbed a Game Stop video game store at gunpoint in Lemon Grove.A man with a semiautomatic handgun walked into the Game Stop at 7048 Broadway street at around 2:45 p.m. Thursday and told a clerk he had 25 seconds to give the bandit everything he had in his cash register, said Sgt. Manuel Diaz of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.The clerk complied and the gunman then ordered the clerk to give him a Sony Play Station 3, the store's video surveillance tape and "all the good games he had behind the counter," Diaz said.
The clerk gave him the game system and three games but could not retrieve the video surveillance tape, he said.The gunman was last seen running westbound on Broadway toward College Avenue. A police helicopter was called to the area to search for the man but the crew could not find him, according to Diaz.No one was hurt in the robbery.
