SAN DIEGO -- Parkway Middle School officials discovered several swastikas and racial graffiti that had been spray painted on the walls of buildings at the school, La Mesa Police said Thursday.

Police said racist slogans like “White Power”, “SS” and other racist graffiti were spray painted on sidewalks, walls and other areas inside the school complex.

Parkway Middle School is located at 9009 Park Plaza in La Mesa.

Police said the vandalism at the school occurred some time after 10:00 pm, Wednesday, May 7, 2008 and 6:30 am, Thursday morning, May 8, 2008.

Investigators said a related vandalism occurred at an apartment building located in the 5600 block of Amaya Dr.

A wall surrounding the apartment complex was spray painted with the same type of racist graffiti. The wall is located at the south end of Veemac Ave., near Northmont Park.

Northmont Park is located in the 6000 block of Severin Dr.

Police said the park was also spray painted with the same type of racial slurs and graffiti. Police said the vandals also spray painted the public restroom, walls, trees, benches, water fountains and sidewalks throughout the park.

Police said all three vandalism cases appear to be related.
