Eco Reserve Volunteer Work Party

Assist the Conservancy and County Park Rangers in improving and maintaining the 1,000 acre San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve with trail maintenance, plant removal, shrub, planting and other activities. Volunteer Work Parties take place every third Saturday of the month from 9 am to 11 am and occasionally on additional days throughout the month. Exact location and activity vary from month to month. Please inquire in advance. All activities are outside and involve varying degrees of physical effort. There are no facilities in the reserve.

As part of the San Diego River Park Foundation’s ongoing efforts to clean and restore the San Diego River, volunteers are needed to help us remove trash and debris from the river and river estuary. This is an important and meaningful activity to help our river and environment. If you believe in clean water and a clean habitat for people and wildlife we would love to have your help.

As part of our ongoing mission to save the San Diego River and its surrounding habitat, volunteers are needed to help remove trash and debris from the riverbed in the Mission Valley Preserve near the YMCA on Friars Rd. With the help of thousands of volunteers over the passed 7 years, we have removed over 900,000lbs of garbage from the river. Our goal is to have the entire river, one of the most polluted in the nation, cleaned up within 2 years and we need your help.
