San Diego police searched Wednesday for a man who robbed a 7-Eleven convenience store in Talmadge.

The man walked into the store at 5202 El Cajon Blvd. shortly before midnight and bought some chewing gum before reaching over the counter and grabbing cash from an open drawer, said San Diego police Sgt. Bob Dare.

The clerk working at the time was not injured, according to Dare.

The robber is a white man in his 40s of medium height and build. He has short dark hair and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue basketball shorts with a white stripe.
