SAN DIEGO -- A late season storm dampened San Diego County early Thursday but the light rainfall was expected to taper off as the morning progresses, according to the National Weather Service. Less than half an inch of rain fell throughout the county Thursday. No rain was forecast for Friday or the weekend. The NWS forecasts cloudy skies in coastal and valley areas later Thursday, with light winds and temperatures in the 60s. In the mountains, clouds are likely Thursday morning but should give way to sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s Thursday afternoon, according to the weather service. It'll be mostly sunny all day in the deserts with temperatures in the 70s, according to the NWS.
