The Job Offer

Thanks for the viewer who supplied this and did some homework.

My wife came across an ad on craigslist regarding a part time job as a research assistant. The job was to collect funds for a "barley institute" in slovenia which was conducting cancer research. They needed somebody to collect all us funds and wire them overseas minus a 10 percent comission which was to serve as the salary. She just replied with her details i.e her name age address and contact no. to express an interest in the job. Next thing we know is that she got a check made out in amount of 850 dollars in her name which she had to wire to slovenia.

I suspected foul play contacted my credit union and confirmed with them that the check was a fake. I also searched for similar stories on the web and found out two who had posted comments on various chat sites. I traced their fed ex tracking nos and mine as well and the common thing was they all were originating from irvine,ca. I hope people are wary or some scam artist and would help ten news with any information through which they can get hold of such people.

From what I could gather on the net the common factor was the person to whom the funds were supposed to be transferred to.

The checks are so real looking because the computers and printers do such a good job in making copies...watch Thursday 11pm...these walmart money orders were almost perfect...
