Police are on the lookout for two men they said robbed and groped several people in the area near the University of California, San Diego.

A late night of studying for final exams ended with rattled nerves for those living in the vicinity.

Police said the first two attacks happened early Saturday morning around 3 a.m. at the La Regencia apartment complex in University City.

One victim, who requested to remain anonymous, remembers the traumatic event.

"I parked my car in my spot and these two men in hoods came up to me, one with a knife, and basically he came up to me and asked me for all my stuff," the victim told 10News.

Police said two men robbed another woman in the same complex on the same night.

The next day, two people attacked another woman by her car, police said.

"I got a call from someone I knew who said something similar happened to them. She was getting out of her car and two people came up to her one grabbed her from the back and put a knife to her throat and asked for her stuff. The guy who had a knife to her neck started groping her and molesting her and kissing her neck," said the victim.

The third attack happened along Regents Road near the Vons grocery store parking lot.

For those who live in the area, they said it is a reality check.

"I always get nervous walking alone at night but just hearing about stuff really puts it in the front of your mind. Wow, it really could happen… it has happened," said student Kelly Weston.

Some have started protecting themselves.

"Yeah, it does… it scares me a lot. I carry my pepper spray and I'm always looking around in the parking lot," said student Lara Plumlee.

It is a parking lot that is no longer safe in the eyes of a victim who now tries to travel in pairs.
