Woman Honks Horn, Scares Off Carjackers

SAN DIEGO -- Two men ordered a woman out of her car at gunpoint in San Diego's Shelltown neighborhood, but she honked the horn and scared the suspects off, police said Saturday.The men approached the woman as she sat in her 2005 Mercedes at around 9 p.m. on Friday on a street near the National City-San Diego line, at 4031 Marine View Ave., said Sgt. Rich Nemetz of the San Diego Police Department.One of the suspects was armed with a shotgun and ordered the woman out of the car, but she refused and began to honk her horn, Nemetz said.The two suspects then walked away, got into an older model white Cadillac sedan and drove off, Nemetz said.The man with a gun was described as a black male around 18 years old, 170 pounds, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with short hair.
