SAN DIEGO -- 10News has learned of new allegations concerning La Mesa Mayor Art Madrid and alcohol use.A former La Mesa resident said the mayor was behind the wheel in a hit-and-run crash several years ago.Don Uribe said he was having a drink at Norm's Cocktails on Aug. 4, 2004, when his vintage 1948 Harley Davidson motorcycle was run over.Uribe later found out the driver was Madrid.Uribe said he met with Madrid and the mayor agreed to pay for the motorcycle repairs.Uribe said he had put it all behind him until he read about last week's incident."He was voted in there, in an office of respect and I don't think he's been behaving in a respectful manner," Uribe told 10News.Madrid declined an on-camera interview, but told 10News in a statement that in the earlier case he had only one beer and had swerved to avoid a car when he hit the Harley. It's unclear whether a formal police report was ever filed.
