SAN DIEGO -- Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a man wanted in connection with a jewelry store burglary.

The man broke into the Collins Family Jewelry Store on Mira Mesa Boulevard early Wednesday morning and got away with $20,000 worth of jewelry, according to police.

The man appears to be black and has a bald head or very short hair, police said.

Police said the alleged burglar was also carrying a red backpack.
