Local Hoops Coach Accused Of Having Sex With Teen

SAN DIEGO -- A youth basketball coach at La Jolla Country Day School will be arraigned Sept. 10 on charges of having sex with a 17-year-old female student, a prosecutor said Tuesday.Cesar Don Juan-Flores, 26, surrendered Monday morning at his Bay Ho-area apartment and later posted bail, said Deputy District Attorney Terrie Roberts.About three weeks ago, sex-crimes investigators received an anonymous tip alleging that Juan-Flores, an assistant coach at La Jolla Country Day, was having intimate relations with the teen, said Monica Munoz of the San Diego Police Department.
On Aug. 17, Juan-Flores voluntarily went to SDPD headquarters to be interviewed about the allegations. Based on the interrogation, detectives decided to seek criminal charges against him."The school administrators at La Jolla Country Day assisted with the investigation and indicate that Juan-Flores is no longer employed at the school," Munoz said.
