PAUMA VALLEY , Calif. -- A California Department of Forestry firefighter died Saturday in a crash in Pauma Valley, authorities said.

Ricardo Villalobos Jr., 28, of Menifee, was riding his motorcycle on Pala Road, also called Highway 76, about 10 a.m. when he apparently crashed, according to a dispatcher with California Department of Forestry and the coroner's office.

He died at the scene.

Villalobos was a CDF firefighter stationed at March Air Force Base, according to the coroner's office.
