Dog Eats Almost $1,000 Cash

If you're a dog owner, your pet may have gotten into something they shouldn't have, but one Wisconsin dog really takes the cake.

The dog's name is Pepper Ann. She's an 8-year-old Labrador-German short hair mixed-breed and has routinely demonstrated an appetite for destruction.

Pepper Ann stuck her nose into a purse during a recent visit to grandma's house and helped herself to an expensive snack. She devoured more than $800 in cash.

The owner said her dog really has eaten everything.

"She's eaten lipstick, so lipstick all over the the carpet, ballpoint pens all over the carpet, toothpaste, shampoo. She's done a lot of Kleenex -- she'll eat a whole box of Kleenex if she can get it," said Pepper Ann's owner Debbie Hulleman.

After the money-eating incident Hulleman stated that "my mother found piles of money all over the place that she had chewed up, spit out or something."

The "something" involves something the dog deposited in the back yard.

"There was lots of piles with money hanging out there, so I had to save it, rinse it or strain it," said Hulleman.

After drying, matching, and taping together the cash, the family traded in $700 worth at a bank.
