SAN DIEGO -- Authorities have identified two people who were found dead in a Marina hotel room Friday night after another guest reported screams and gunshots next door to his room.

Police said Harold Michael Kent, 54, and Lisa Walsh, 43, died in what appears to be a murder-suicide by Kent at the San Diego Marriott Hotel & Marina on Harbor Drive.

The county medical examiner's office said Walsh is from Ventura County, but they have not verified Kent's place of residency or his relationship to Walsh.

Their bodies were discovered after a seventh-floor guest called security at 7:45 p.m. after hearing several gunshots, San Diego police Lt. Kevin Rooney said.

Based on the position of the bodies in the room, investigators believe Kent shot Walsh before turning the gun on himself.
