A woman killed in a collision on state Route 163 in the Miramar area was identified Friday as a 46-year-old North County educator.

Tracee Parsons was headed north when her Toyota 4Runner was rear-ended by another SUV near state Route 52 shortly before 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol and county Medical Examiner's Office.

The Escondido resident's vehicle skidded off the roadway and overturned, partially ejecting her. Parsons, vice principal of Roosevelt Middle School in Hillcrest, died at the scene.

Emergency crews extricated the other driver, a 57-year-old Poway woman, from her crumpled Toyota Highlander and took her to a hospital for treatment of moderately serious head injuries, the CHP reported.
