Fatal Motorcycle Accident On Interstate 15

SAN DIEGO -- A motorcycle and a pickup truck that crashed Saturday on the Escondido (15) Freeway left the cyclist dead on the freeway, authorities said. The crash on the northbound Interstate 15, just south of Rancho Penasquitos Boulevard, was reported at 1:37 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A San Diego fire dispatcher said firefighters were canceled on the call and a medical examiner was summoned to the scene. The crash occurred in the middle lane, blocking two lanes of traffic, the CHP reported.
