Authorities Investigate SDSU Student's Death

SAN DIEGO -- A San Diego State University student was found dead in her apartment Sunday morning, 10News reported.Shirley Jennifer Poliakoff, 19, was buried Monday in her hometown of Poway.Police said they do not suspect foul play and have handed the case to the medical examiner.
Friends said they believe partying Saturday night led to her death.

“It’s San Diego State and it’s known for partying. Many of the kids here don’t know, they don’t think. They think the worst thing is a hangover,” said Adam Pozak, a friend of Poliakoff.Toxicology reports should detail what was in Poliakoff’s system the night she died, but the report might not be available for several weeks.
