SAN DIEGO -- An apparent home invasion robbery in North Park was foiled Sunday when one of the residents returned fire, according to San Diego police.

Two gunmen ran in the front door of the home in the 4700 block of 32nd Street about 3:40 p.m. and began shooting, said Sgt. Rodney Vandiver of the San Diego Police Department.

One of the occupants returned fire, but it was not immediately known if anyone was hit, Vandiver said.

Authorities said the incident may have been a home invasion.

The police robbery and gang units were investigating, Vandiver said.
