SAN DIEGO -- Construction began Thursday on a fence that will allow people to circle Lake Miramar for the first time since Sept. 11, 2001, 10News reported. The path over the dam at Lake Miramar was closed as a security precaution to protect the local water supply. The closure meant everyone who walked, jogged and biked could no longer circle the lake and had to turn around at a dead end.Officials said the construction of the fence should be complete by July 1.There are plans to install security lighting and video surveillance to further protect San Diego’s water supply.
