A Spokane, Wash. man is $3 million dollars richer and he has a fortune from a fortune cookie to thank.

Tom Walker said he was on vacation on Whidbey Island in western Washington last month when he purchased a lotto ticket. Walker said he put the ticket in his wallet and forgot about it until a week ago Sunday.

Walker said he was at dinner and got a fortune cookie that said Monday would be an important day for him.

The next day he remembered his lotto ticket, took a look and found that it was a winner.

He said he had to talk with his brother and look over the ticket numerous times before he actually believed he had won.

Walker said he will use the money to send his son to college and to get a pilot's license for himself.
