SAN DIEGO -- A group of San Diegans are holding a benefit concert for a former University of California, San Diego student currently serving 30 years in a Nicaraguan prison.

Eric Volz is in a Nicaraguan prison for the murder and rape of his girlfriend, a crime many people said he did not commit.

The funds from Friday's benefit concert for Volz will go to his defense.

At UCSD, faculty are urging students to write to Congress and help spread the word about Volz's case.
