Panda Visitation Hours Extended

Hua Mei And Her Folks Now Have Longer Visiting Hours

POSTED: 2:37 pm PST December 4, 2001
UPDATED: 2:52 pm PST December 4, 2001

The San Diego Zoo's panda family will be on display two and a half more hours per day.

According to 10News, visitors can now see Bai Yun, Shi Shi and their offspring Hua Mei as early as 9 a.m. or as late as 4 p.m. Two of the three bears typically are displayed at a time.

Only seven giant pandas live in the United States.

The bears are on loan from China, and Hua Mei, born here in 1999, also belongs to that nation.
