GLOBE, Ariz. -- Sheriff homicide investigators will head to Arizona Monday morning to bring back Michael Ray Jennison, who is suspected in the shooting death of a man at a Lakeside condominium complex.Jennison was arrested Saturday in Globe, Ariz., 10News reported.
Michael Ray Jennison, 36, was taken into custody early Saturday morning near Globe, Ariz., by the Gila County Sheriff's Department, according to San Diego County Sheriff's Homicide Lt. Dennis Brugos. At the time of his arrest, Jennison, who was driving alone, was stopped on suspicion of a traffic violation, said Brugos. The suspect had three handguns in his possession and was arrested peacefully, the lieutenant said. Jennison is being held on an arrest warrant from San Diego, which has a $1 million bail, said Brugos. Detectives from the sheriff's homicide detail and crime lab will travel to Arizona Monday, said Brugos. Jennison was sought in connection with the Thursday afternoon slaying of 64-year-old James Marcel Magot at the 9719 Winter Gardens Blvd. condominium complex where Jennison apparently lived. Deputies responding to a report of an armed suspicious person found the victim fatally wounded on the floor of a unit. Area residents told investigators they heard a pair of gunshots and then saw two men leave the home where the victim was found, but sheriff's detectives said Jennison was the only suspect being sought at the time. Authorities declined to say how they thought Jennison was linked to the crime. Anyone with information about the slaying was asked to call the Sheriff's Homicide Detail at 858-974-2321 or CrimeStoppers at 888-580-TIPS. Callers to CrimeStoppers can remain anonymous.
