I strongly believe that the public is best served by a government that is transparent in both its processes and results. As such, I think that all city employees should be highly responsive to requests for information. It is my policy that all mayoral city departments comply with the California Public Records Act and respond appropriately to any request by a memeber of the public to inspect a public record. So that you can feel adequately prepared to handle public information requests, there is a link below to a quick and easy to use guide. Please refer -- and follow -- this guide when receiving inquiries from the public, whether in person, over the phone or in writing. If you are unsure on how to handle a request, please immediately consult your supervisor and /or department director. Requests for information MUST be dealt with forthrightly and within the manner specified by law. Creating and fostering a government that is accessible to all, is a priority for my administration.
