In response to your faxes/letters/calls to Mayor Lewis, Chief Zoll and myself regarding the public records act survey conducted in December:

The City of Carlsbad and its police department work diligently to maintain the balance between the citizens' right to privacy and the public's right to know.
Based on the report summary that was presented to us, we will review our current public records release practices and make modification if needed.
