SAN DIEGO -- Authorities Friday publicly identified a suspect in a seemingly unprovoked shooting that killed a 23-year-old man and wounded one of his friends as they drove along a back-country road in Jamul.Joseph "Bob" Orlosky, 55, allegedly opened fire with an assault rifle on a vehicle carrying three young men on Wisecarver Truck Trail about 8:30 p.m. last Friday, according to sheriff's officials. The attack killed construction worker Charles Crow and left another young man with minor injuries.Shortly before the shooting, Crow and two companions had passed a parked truck while driving through the rural area, looking for a piece of property for sale, homicide Lt. Dennis Brugos said.As the men returned to the spot on their way back, a man in a green camouflage jacket got out of the pickup with a rifle in his hands, walked to the middle of the road and fired several rounds at the victims before fleeing, investigators said.Crow, a Jamul resident and father of a 5-month-old son, died about a half-hour later.Investigators have identified no motive in the case.Orlosky, who has an Oregon driver's license, is a 6-feet-1-inch-tall, roughly 195-pound white man with receding gray hair and green eyes, officials said.He may be driving a white Ford F-250 Super Duty truck with a decal or placard affixed to its cargo bed.Officials urged anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts to call San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477. Tipsters may remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
