Crow and two others were looking for property for sale around Skyline Truck Trail and Wisecarver Truck Trail around 8:30 p.m. Friday when he was shot, said Lt. Jim Bolwerk. The three were driving on Wisecarver Truck Trail when a suspect in a white pickup truck got out of his vehicle, walked to the middle of the road with a rifle and fired several rounds at the victims' as they passed, said Lt. Dennis Brugos. Crow and his friends had driven by the truck on the way in with no problem, but the man started shooting when they turned around and passed the truck again, Brugos said. Another man riding in the truck with Crow was wounded, but expected to survive his injuries. A third person was not injured. Crow was pronounced dead at 8:59 p.m., Brugos said. The suspect was described as about 5 feet 6 inches and 150 pounds with gray hair and an unshaven face. He was wearing a green camouflage jacket, pants and a floppy brimmed hat, authorities said. He was driving a Ford F-250 Super Duty pickup truck with a decal or placard affixed to the truck bed.
