Authorities Monday released the name of a second U.S. Forest Service employee killed in a weekend collision that also left a third employee seriously injured in the Cleveland National Forest.

Daniel Duran, 29, of Calexico, was pronounced dead Saturday, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office.

Duran was riding in a vehicle driven by 20-year-old Francesco Damico of Chula Vista at the time of the accident, authorities said.

Damico was southbound on Boulder Creek Road about 9:30 p.m. Saturday when he failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to leave the road, flip over and hit an oak tree, according to a California Highway Patrol dispatcher.

Damico was also killed, according to CHP Officer Brian Pennings.

Another passenger, 20-year-old Adrian Rios of Chula Vista, survived the crash with serious injuries. He had been pinned in the vehicle for two hours until a passerby spotted him.

All three men were U.S. Forest Service employees, authorities said.
