One person was detained Saturday after officers executed a warrant at a residence in City Heights.
San Diego police Lt. Eric Hays said early Saturday morning, officers received a radio call reporting narcotics activity in the 4200 block of Poplar Street. Officers came by to investigate the alleged narcotics activity and saw a narcotics transaction taking place, Hays said.
Officers at the Mid-City police substation then got an on-duty judge to grant them a search warrant for the residence, which was executed at about 1:45 p.m.
The department's SWAT team was called in as a precaution to enter the residence so the patrol officers could conduct the search, Hays said.
The occupants of the residence, which appeared to be a triplex, were asked to leave while officers executed the warrant.
One person was detained, and several were taken in for questioning.
Hays said the search was still under way and that officers had searched two units and one garage. It is unclear if any drugs or weapons were found.
