Oceanside police hope surveillance photos released Wednesday will lead to the man who robbed a CVS Pharmacy of about $15,000 in prescription medicine.

The holdup at 1980 College Blvd. occurred shortly before 10 p.m. June 1, according to Oceanside police Lt. Joe Young.The robber approached the pharmacy counter, brandished a dark handgun and demanded the medicine from a clerk, Young said in a statement.The clerk complied and the bandit fled with at least two large, filled CVS-stamped bags. He was last seen driving a 1980s model Nissan Sentra north on College Boulevard, Young said.The robber is white, 25-35 years old, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches and weighing 130-150 pounds.He has blue eyes, a thin mustache and a possible goatee, and was dressed in a black hooded sweatshirt and black knit cap.Anyone with information about the robber was urged to call Oceanside police Detective Mark LaVake at 760-435-4872.Copyright Do you have more information about this story?
