SAN DIEGO - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped to its lowest amount since May 7 Tuesday, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.921.
The average price has decreased for 21 consecutive days and is 6.2 cents less than one week ago, 12.6 cents less than one month ago and 15.8 cents below what is was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price has dropped 15.9 cents over the past 21 days, including seven-tenths of a cent on Monday.
"The decreasing prices are the result of wholesale prices backing down when supply issues in California did not materialize as feared," Marie Montgomery of the Automobile Club of Southern California told City News Service.
