Facebook has been on the hunt for new revenue sources ever since its botched stock offering last year.

It has been testing paid listings, more advertising, and fees to push your posts to the top of your friend's feeds.

The latest? A $100 fee to send a message to Facebook executives, including founder Mark Zuckerberg.

CNN/Money and the website Mashable report that Facebook had mentioned "paid messages" as one new revenue stream, but that most people assumed a paid message would cost $10 or less. 

Not so.

They report that if you now want to message Zuckerberg or other Facebook execs, you will now have to pay $100 for the privilege, unless you are his friend. ("Liking" his page does not make you a friend).

Facebook tells CNN this will not just generate money, but will also filter out spammers, as you will need a Facebook account and PayPal or similar account to send a message this way.

Facebook is already charging a more reasonable $7 fee to promote your posts to the top of your friends feeds.  That way, when you post that you drank too much beer on Friday night, you can be sure your friends all read it.

It's just another way the site is trying to earn cash. Keep that in mind, so you don't waste your money.
