Target to offer Apple iPad trade-in program through Saturday; store giving gift cards up to $200

If you've been drooling over the new iPad, but aren't exactly ready to throw out your old one, we've found a great deal for you.

Target is offering an iPad trade-in program through Nov. 9.

The retailer says it will be giving gift cards for at least $200 for used iPad's in good condition.

Target says in order to get store credit towards a new iPad, you must make sure your iPad powers on and its screen isn't scratched.

If your used gadget passes the condition checks, you should then go to Target's trade-in website to find a participating store nearest to you (mobile users: http://bit.ly/19P0GOn).

Target says all used iPads will be appraised at the store.

After the appraisal, Target will give a gift card for at least $200, which can be used toward any store purchase. A sales clerk in Mission, Kan., said about half of his customers were taking the gift card, and the others were putting the credit toward a newer iPad.
