RICHMOND BRAVES - The Braves recorded their fourth straight victory with an impressive 8-3 win against Pawtucket on July 11th. The win also improved Richmond to an impressive 8-3 in the month of July and to 47-41 on the season. The International League's South Division race is really starting to heat up, as Richmond is only one game ahead of Durham (46-42) in the standings, with a mark of 42-39. Outfielder Ryan Langerhans has really been seeing the ball well of late for the Braves, hitting .357 over his last seven games with seven RBI and seven runs scored. Third baseman Pete Orr has been a menace for opposing teams both at the plate and on the base paths. Orr is batting a blistering .370 since July 4th and has four stolen bases over that seven-game period to go along with his four runs scored.

GREENVILLE BRAVES - The Braves are proving to be a very streaky team, as they started July with five straight wins and then proceeded to lose four straight before posting a pair of victories in a doubleheader against Tennessee on July 11th. Greenville, which is 13-5 in the second half of the season thus far, finds itself tied with Chattanooga atop the Southern League's East Division. Outfielder Adam Stern is connecting with the baseball regularly of late, hitting .323 over his last seven games with four runs scored and two RBI. Shortstop Kelly Johnson has been on a tear for the Braves since the Fourth of July, batting .318 with two home runs, five runs scored and five RBI.

ROME BRAVES - Rome had lost four straight games before posting back-to-back wins against Columbus-A on July 10th and 11th. Despite the two victories, the Braves are still just 6-10 in the second half of this season and already 4 1/2 games out of first place in the South Atlantic League's Southern Division. Designated hitter Miguel Bernard had one of Rome's seven home runs this past week and also was able to hit a blistering .500 with six RBI, six doubles and five runs scored. Starter Bryan Digby was close to dominant in his two outings since July 5th, allowing just one earned run in 13 1/3 combined innings. Digby, who posted wins in both of his starts, also struck out 12 batters and allowed opposing hitters to bat just .140 against him.

MYRTLE BEACH PELICANS - Myrtle Beach snapped its brief two-game losing skid on July 11th with a 3-0 victory over Wilmington. The Pelicans have now won five of their last eight games and are tied with Wilmington for the best second- half record in the Carolina League (11-6). Despite its impressive start to the second-half of the season, Myrtle Beach is only one game up on Winston Salem (10-7) in the Southern Division standings. Outfielder Onil Joseph has been red hot since the Fourth of July, batting .385 with a home run, three RBI, two stolen bases and six runs scored. Starter Matt Wright had a dominating performance on July 8th, giving up just one earned run and striking out 11 batters in a 6-1 victory against Frederick. Ray Aguilar was recently named the Carolina League's Pitcher of the Week after allowing just eight hits and one earned run in 12 innings of work, fanning six and not allowing a walk. He held opponents to a dazzling .190 batting in his two starts last week.

DANVILLE BRAVES - The Braves have been the hottest team in the Appalachian League over the past week, having won three straight games and five of their last six. Danville took both games of a doubleheader against Bristol on July 11th, putting the Braves just over the .500 mark (11-10). They are now four games out of first place in the East Division, as Pulaski (15-6) and Bluefield (13-7) are ahead of them in the standings. Outfielder Carlos Moreta had another outstanding week at the plate, as he was able to hit .385 with three homers and 11 RBI over a seven-game span. Catcher Cole Armstrong was also tearing the cover off the ball for Danville, posting a .526 batting average and five RBI over that same stretch.
