Cubs, Grabow Agree To Two-Year Deal

Chicago, IL -- (Sports Network) - The Chicago Cubs have agreed to a two-year deal with left-handed reliever John Grabow.Although financial terms of the deal are not known, the Chicago Sun-Times reported it to be worth at least $7 million with an official announcement coming as soon as Thursday. After being acquired last season from Pittsburgh, Grabow posted a 3.24 earned run average in 30 appearances with Chicago. He set a career high with 75 games with both the Pirates and Cubs. Grabow, who would have been one of the most sought-after lefty relievers had he hit the open market, had spent the first six-plus seasons of his big league career with the Pirates and is 20-15 lifetime with six saves and a 4.03 ERA in 420 games.
