Make Your Own Salt Scrub

Are you looking for smooth, silky skin? I can help, and the best part is my solution will cost you a fraction of what similar salt scrubs cost at department stores and bath stores.

A salt scrub is a combination of sea salt, oil and a few drops of essential oil for fragrance.

You can buy sea salt at most grocery or specialty stores, but I like to make my own. Go to the Scripps Pier and fill a 5-gallon container with filtered sea water. Simmer the water, stirring regularly, until you have 1 pound or more of rich, fluffy sea salt. Dry it gently on low heat in the oven.

Choose a jar of your liking. Add one cup of sea salt and an equal amount of oil (olive, grape seed, almond) and mix. Then add a few drops of essential oils, which are best for fragrance. I've used lemon, spearmint, and musk. Henry's Market has a wide variety.

For color, use regular, old food coloring.

Use your salt scrub in the shower. Rub it all over (avoiding cuts and freshly-shaved areas) and you'll be amazed at how polished your skin feels and looks.

Now wasn't that easy?

Thanks for watching.
