SAN DIEGO - More than 2,500 women and men wrapped up the annual Susan G. Komen 3-Day walk Sunday afternoon.
They started on Friday at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, with 20-mile walks each day until the walkers reached Petco Park in downtown San Diego. They were greeted by hundreds of enthusiastic supporters.
Participant Cindy Matranga says she gets as much from the walk as she gives.
"It really is almost therapy," she said. "All of us get together, even fundraising… all the people I meet, the stories I hear just get you through."
This year, walkers raised $6.5 million for the fight against breast cancer.
