Is butter in your brew good for you?

The latest craze for energy, weight loss and even better brain function is not another diet or a cutting-edge workout, it’s just plain old butter---two-thirds of a stick to be exact, according to the Daily Report.
But in order for it to work, you wouldn’t be eating all this butter on a biscuit or even solo, it would need to be added to your coffee, according to David Asprey the creator of Bulletproof coffee.
Asprey says he discovered the butter and coffee combo while on a trip in Tibet at the top of Mt Kailash in -10 degree weather. He was given some Yak-butter tea and he says he felt rejuvenated and full of energy, WEWS reported.
Asprey then combined it with his personal blend of Bulletproof Coffee, which also contains MCT oil, fats that digest quickly and actually promote weight loss.
The trend is gaining steam especially among those who follow the paleo diet, which focuses on only eating plant and meat based foods that were only available in the "caveman" hunter-gatherer age.
He claims drinkers have experienced an energy boost of up to six hours, a shrinking waist line and better cognitive brain function.
Some have compared butter in coffee to adding cream to coffee. Asprey says the butter contains 'all the benefits of healthy milk fat with none of the damaging “denatured casein proteins found in cream,' making for 'the creamiest, most satisfying' cup of coffee”, The Daily Mail reports.
But some experts don’t think this is a good idea. The diet and nutrition editor at Today.com,
Madelyn Fernstrom, says with 100 to 200 extra calories a cup, this coffee can actually promote weight gain, and any extra energy drinkers feel is likely a placebo effect.
