In addition to fun events planned for the parks, delicious treats will also fill the park, including Mickey Santa caramel apples and spiced peanut brittle. Guests can also check out festive merchandise, home décor and more.

What to expect...

The two parks will be running their own holiday events through the winter season. Here's a look at the fun each park has planned:

Disneyland

  • Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle will be clad in more than 50,000 LED lights. With the park's "Believe … in Holiday Magic" fireworks show and snowfall transforming the scene into a winter wonderland.
  • The park's "A Christmas Fantasy" Parade will run daily as guests' favorite Disney characters - and Santa Claus - march through the park spreading holiday cheer. Guests can visit the Big Man as well in the Critter County area of the park.
  • Disneyland's 60-foot Christmas tree will shine brightly with about 1,800 ornaments on Main Street, U.S.A.
  • "It’s a Small World" will also be adorned with lights as the ride celebrates the holidays and traditions around the world.
  • The Haunted Mansion will become the Haunted Mansion Holiday, as Jack Skellington and characters from Tim Burton’s "The Nightmare Before Christmas" take over for the holiday season.

California Adventure Park

  • The park's Radiator Springs section will be decorated along Route 66 while "Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters" and "Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree" are transformed to host a holiday twist.
  • The "Festival of Holidays" will bring an array of cultural festivities and more to the park, inspired by Christmas, Navidad, Hannukah, Diwali, Kwanza and Three Kings Day.
  • "World of Color – Season of Light" will light up Paradise Bay and run holiday songs with memorable moments from Disney films.
  • "A Bug’s Land" will host its own holiday celebration with oversized lights and ornaments.
  • Santa’s Holiday Visit at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will host Elf Games and cookie decorating - with a chance to catch Santa Claus.
  • Carthay Circle along Buena Vista Street will feature a 1920s-inspired holiday theme of Los Angeles as Walt Disney saw it, with a 50-foot Christmas tree and vintage decorations.
