SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Halloween is upon us, San Diego!

If you haven't found that perfect pumpkin yet, now's your chance. There are plenty of pumpkin patches around the county to get one before Halloween hits. 

Throughout San Diego, events that are sure to light the fall spirit in you are happening, from HauntFest in El Cajon to Escondido's Fall Festival.

If you aren't ready to jump headfirst into any spooky happenings, check out Coronado's Art Walk, La Mesa's Cornhole Tournament and Food Truck Rally, or the GI Film Festival, to name a few.

Here's your weekend outlook of fun events in San Diego to check out: 

GI Film Festival San Diego awards ceremony at San Diego State University - Wednesday - Sunday

Cost: $23 - $25

View multiple feature films and panel discussions focusing on stories of military life at the GI Film Festival San Diego. A family movie night is also scheduled and awards will be given out the films highlighting San Diego’s local military culture. More information.

 


 

1st Annual Extreme San Diego Kiteboard Invitational at Harbor Island Park - Thursday - Sunday

Cost: Free for spectators

The top kiteboarders from around the world will come to San Diego for four days of competition. Spectators can watch for free and kids can enjoy a "kids zone," with interactive activities geared to focus on health and wellness. More information.

 


 

Country Strong Route 91 victim benefit concert at Moonshine Flats - Thursday

Cost: $10 donation at the door

Moonshine Flats will be hosting a benefit concert for the victims of the Route 91 shooting victims. Performances by Carter Winter, The Morgan Leigh Band, and more are expected and 100 percent of bar proceeds will be donated to help shooting victims also. A special celebration of life for San Diego victim Jennifer Irvine will also be held. More information.

 


 

6th Annual HauntFest on Main in downtown El Cajon - Friday

Cost: Free

El Cajon is hosting a frightfully fun event for residents of all ages this weekend with HauntFest on Main, featuring carnival rides, costume contests, face painting, performances, and more. Craft booths and a pumpkin patch will also be running during the event, giving families the chance to get the perfect pumpkin for the season. More information.

12th Annual Coronado Art Walk at The Ferry Landing Marketplace - Saturday - Sunday

Cost: Free

Diverse works of art created across different mediums will be on display, including works in jewelry, textiles, ceramics, mixed media, and of course paint. The event will also feature live music from Bayou Brothers, Breez’n, Prairie Sky, and Bill Magee Blues Band, as well as interactive activities for children and more. More information.

 


 

Fall Harvest Festival at The Centre in Escondido - Saturday

Cost: Free

Celebrate the fall season with Escondido's Fall Festival with bobbing for apples, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and more. Children can also participate in art contests and trick-or-treating. More information.

 


 

Howl-O-Ween Hounds Mega Adoption Event at Grossmont Center - Saturday

Cost: Free

Howl-o-ween Hounds Mega Adoption Event takes place at Grossmont Center and will bring together canines from more than a dozen animal shelters across the county - some even rocking their finest Halloween costumes. In addition to offering adoptions, the event will feature San Diego Pet Hospital's "ask-a-vet" booth, where guests can get free advice from qualified veterinary professionals. Cornhole Tournament and Food Truck Rally at La Mesa Community Center - Saturday

Cost: Free for spectators

All ages are welcome at the Cornhole Tournament and Food Truck Rally. Participants are welcome to sign up, with an open division for $100/2-person team ($1,000 cash prize) and a family division for $50/2-person team ($500+ in prizes). Spectators can enjoy great food, kid-friendly activities, and beer garden. More information.

 


 

Bayside Brew and Spirits Festival at Pepper Park - Saturday

Cost: $35 - $75

More than 40 local and national breweries with supply attendees with delicious samples of beer and spirits at the Bayside Brew and Spirits Festival. Attendees will also be able to groove to live music and chow down on delicious food. The festival benefits Arts A Reason to Survive. More information.

 


 

San Diego Kids Expo and Fair at Del Mar Fairgrounds - Saturday - Sunday

Cost: $35

More than 100 vendors will present their goods and services catered to children and families at the Del Mar Fairgrounds this weekend. Attendees can meet with sports instructors, visit a petting zoo, take part in interactive STEM-focused activities and much more. More information.

 


 

Spooktacular Half Marathon, 15K/10K/5K Run-Walk at Hospitality Point Park - Sunday

Cost: $20 - $85 for registration

Dress up in your scariest (or funniest) outfits and lace up your running shoes for the Spooktacular run. Proceeds benefit the Patrick Henry High School music program and runners get a t-shirt and medal. More information.

 


 

Day of the Dead Festival in North Park - Sunday

Cost: Free

North Park will celebrate Dia de los Muertos with sugar skull decorating, face painting, a community altar, mezcal, a tequila tasting, live music, and more. Come out with the rest of the community and celebrate the unity of life and death during this traditional, yearly celebration. More information.
