Angele Ringo
Weekend Anchor
Angele Ringo comes to 10News with unique talents and experience. Her first exposure to broadcast journalism was in the U.S. Army, where Angele anchored and reported for the Armed Forces Television Network. Through her work with the military, Angele has reported stories from cities around the world, including Seoul, South Korea; Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands; and Grafenwoehr, Germany. Angele is a proud 16-year veteran and continues to serve in the Army Reserves. She most recently filed reports from Baghdad, Iraq, where she worked as a journalist and public affairs specialist during a one-year deployment. She is the recipient of the Thomas Jefferson Broadcast Journalist of the Year award which is the highest award given by the Department of Defense for broadcast journalism. She is also the recipient of an Alabama Associated Press award for best spot news story.The citizen soldier is the daughter of a career Navy man. She spent time growing up in San Diego before her family moved to their next assignment. She calls New Orleans home but her return to San Diego is a homecoming and reunion of sorts with family and friends still living in the area.Angele comes to 10News from FOX affiliate WJW-TV in Cleveland, Ohio, where she was a reporter. Before that, she worked as a reporter and fill-in anchor for WBRC, the FOX affiliate in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Maryland, University College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.
Angele Ringo is the anchor for the weekend news at 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
