Jennifer Jensen

Before the sun even comes up, 10News morning reporter Jennifer Jensen is hard at work developing the stories you’ll need to know at the start of your day.

As a native San Diegan, Jennifer joined the 10News team in June of 2007 as a freelance reporter and joined the staff as a general assignment reporter less than a year later.

Since that time, she has been on the fire lines of the October 2007 wildfires, on the cliffs in Encinitas just after the deadly shark attack, and on the side of a rural mountain to show you a marijuana field being illegally harvested in the east county.

It was during the October 2007 wildfires when Jennifer realized how much her reporting could make an impact and help the community. Personal letters and emails helped her realize what she was doing was a service to those who could not be near their homes during the first 48 hours of the fire.

Jennifer completed two college internships at KGTV: one in the sports department and one on the assignment desk. She also worked as a producer and writer at 10News before getting her first reporting job in Yuma, Arizona. She was also the evening anchor and a reporter for a CNN-affiliate in neighboring Temecula, before staying put in San Diego to work at ABC10.

When she’s not trying to catch some sleep she’s enjoying time at home with her husband Craig and her children. Jennifer enjoys traveling, hiking, reading, baking, and playing Scrabble. Send a story idea or message to Jennifer's E-mail.
