SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Zoo is donating $15,000 in building materials and resources to help the Las Vegas Zoo, the 10News I-Team reported.

The donation comes three months after the I-Team questioned how animals at the Las Vegas Zoo were being treated. Animals at the Las Vegas Zoo were living in cages and heat, compared to conditions at the San Diego where animals have open space and lots of water to drink. The San Diego Zoo had loaned at least four animals to the Las Vegas Zoo, which is not accredited.

As part of the donation, the San Diego Zoo is sending animal experts to Las Vegas to help that zoo build two new animal habitats.
