A La Jolla attorney, who has been the subject of a previous 10News I-Team investigation, is accused of trying to hire someone to kill his wife.

Steven Liss was arrested Friday and charged with four solicitations to commit murder, one charge of false imprisonment with violence and one count of spousal battery, according to Monica Munoz of the San Diego Police Department.

Liss has a long list of troubles, as reported by the I-Team, since 1998. Before the current charges, Liss was the subject of I-Team stories for allegedly taking clients' money for divorces and adoptions and never helping them.

Earlier this year, Liss hid from the I-Team cameras when he was charged with passing a bad check, stealing personal property and burglary.

The I-Team researched family court documents and found Liss' wife, Karen, filed for divorce earlier this year.

Karen Liss, who has gotten at least two restraining orders againist her husband, recently told the court: "I am afraid of him," as well as "his behavior is abusive."

Steven and Karen Liss have three children.
